Christmas is almost here. A time to be with friends and family. A time to share with
others. A lovely time of year. We all look forward to being at home, exchanging gifts and
feeling the love and warmth of family.
For some others who are far from home and loved ones, this can be a sad time of year.
But the closeness of friends helps it pass more easily. I know that I would rather be home
in Scotland. With family and childhood friends. This is not to be. So another Christmas in
a foreign country. Put yourself in my place. Just for a minute.
Christmas is fast approaching. This is a special time of year. It seems to change people a
bit. Tension is less. Courtesy is greater and there seems to be more love in the air. It is not
hard for me to understand. This is the time of year when we celebrate the greatest gift ever
given. The birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus.
What a wonderful gift to us. God came to walk among us as a man. To feel what we
feel. To be one with us. Now we are offered salvation for all time through Him that loves
us. What a beautiful gift. Perhaps that is part of why we feel this way this time of year.
So, to all of you, my very special friends, I want to wish the most wonderful and happy
of holidays. It is my wish that the love of God shine down upon you and fill your heart
with the peace and joy of the season. May your days be filled with joy, and your nights
filled with peaceful sleep.
God bless you all.
